The Alma Park Area Cleanup
Neighbors joined forces with the amazing San Pedro Caring Proactive Residents (CPR) cleanup crew on April 10, 2021. The volunteer force cleared streets and alleys surrounding Alma Market of litter and debris. This Alma Park area cleanup was a collaboration between neighbors and a number of local businesses, including Colossus Bread, Choriman, Alma Market, and Bagels Galore.

The Alma Park Area Needed a Little TLC

This is what the area behind Alma Market looked like on 3/5/2021. The Alma Park Area Neighborhood Watch began cleaning the garbage, debris, overgrown weeds, and graffiti. It's a work in progress. Graffiti has been pixelated.

This broken glass had lined the alley behind Alma Market for months. The volunteers removed this broken glass, and 240 more gallons of trash!

The Cleanup was a Success!
This community engagement event resulted in around a dozen volunteers removing 240 gallons of trash from the area. Volunteers removed two mattresses found in alleys. A pair of office chairs that were dumped in Alma Park were also hauled away.
