Outed street lights in the Alma Park neighborhood

Have you been thinking the neighborhood seems a little darker lately? If so, you are not imagining it! After a week of pretty heavy rain, neighbors have noticed a number of outed or malfunctioning street lights.

Neighbors have already reported three such lights, including:

  • The light at Alma Market on the Southwest corner of 23rd and Alma (pole XP416-072)

  • The light on the corner of 21st and Alma (pole XP416-074)

  • One light in the park on the Southside of 21st street (pole XP416-061)

Obviously, having a well-lit neighborhood is important for safety.

We ask that you please report any outed street light that you notice. The process is very easy:

  1. Write down the pole identifier, which is a yellow and black set of numbers and letters. In our neighborhood, the identifier usually starts with XP.

  2. Make note of the pole’s location and what is specifically going on with the light.

  3. Call the Department of Water and Power at (800) 342-5397 and ask for customer service.

The whole process takes about five minutes, and you will be helping to make the neighborhood safer and discouraging crime.

Thank you neighbors!
