Alma Park Neighborhood Watch Meeting 01/04/2020
On January 4th, 2020 about 20 members of our community met in Alma Park for the first Alma Park Area Neighborhood Watch meeting of 2020. Despite the slightly crispy air, there was a real sense of positivity in the park.
Nice steamy coffee and donuts helped stave off the cold.
Five neighbors met for the Park's monthly cleanup earlier that morning, so the grounds were pristine.
Some of the topics presented during the Alma Park Area Neighborhood Watch meeting were:
The Park Advisory Board (PAB) for Alma Park is looking for new board members. The work the PAB has done to keep the park a welcoming, safe place is inspiring! It's important to find new board members so that we have a direct line of communication with the park department. If you are interested, please contact me. Here are hyperlinks to the handbook and application form.
Officer Winter provided a general sense of crimes in the neighborhood, focusing on a number of recent reports. He gave guidance on how best to engage the police department. His guidance is something I would like to write up and distribute in the future.
A raffle was held with some nice gift card giveaways!
Again, I ask that if you have any interest at all in being on the Park Advisory Board that you please contact me. The existing PAB has done remarkable work, facilitating the installation of picnic tables, trash cans, lighting and jungle gym equipment. Going forward, there are still a lot of improvements that can be made so the PAB is an important organization to support.
Thank you all for your continued community engagement!
